Twelve eighth-grade students were inducted as Peer Helpers during a ceremony held Sept. 17 in Morris Chapel.
Inductees include Bailey Brock, Harris Burton, David Grindstaff, David Ethridge, Megan Healy, Blair Holcombe, O’Keefe Johnson, Jordan Muschamp, Saahil Patel, Sidney Stout, Caroline Walker and Will Warren.
“The Peer Helpers are a group of well-respected eighth-graders who lead by example,” said Melissa Robinson, Middle School counselor. “These students are asked to reach out to their peers who may be struggling and to help around the Middle School in various ways.”
Peer Helper responsibilities include serving as a buddy for new students, collecting recyclables on a weekly basis, contributing articles to the Rome News-Tribune’s Young Romans section, and organizing fun events and community service projects for the student body.
