Jean Barnes, who joined Darlington in 1956 while she was still Mary Jean Kilgo, a Northwest Georgia Business College student, retired in March after 44 years of service to the school. Barnes worked with an array of individuals in a variety of duties over the years. She served as secretary to master of dormitories R.M. Yankee, Ralph Dorminey, Jack Barkell, Joe Campbell, Eddie Guth, and Pam Burke. She also worked with David Rhodes when he was appointed dean of students, Roger Stifflemire, director of student affairs and transportation, and most recently Gus Bell and Mike Carswell in the student life offices.
