This will be an opportunity for our 8th-grade families to gather and drive through “carline” for one last time in a celebratory parade. Parents and students may decorate vehicles with signs, streamers, balloons, and any other festive decorations. Our Pre-K to 7 students and faculty will gather around Thatcher Hall sidewalk to celebrate and honor our 8th-grade class.

Handicap Parking & Seating for Commencement

Grades > 9-12

Drivers needing handicap parking spaces at Commencement should proceed through the gate with DMV-issued handicap placards displayed or handicap plates on the vehicle. Handicap spaces will be available in front of the McCallie-Kennedy Student Center but parking is limited.

Guests may also drop off those with mobility issues at the sidewalk below the Student Center. Drivers may then park their cars at the Baseball Field Complex or the Huffman Athletic Center and take the shuttle back to campus to join their party.

This year, we will again offer a handicap seating area. The handicap seating will be on the patio under the Mary Clair McCallie Greenblatt memorial tree (the round patio at the crest of the hill). This area will be roped off for use by those with mobility issues. This location has easy access to the parking area, and is all concrete surface which is easier on walkers and wheelchairs than grass. There will be some chairs available for a caretaker to sit in this area as well, though space is limited and will not be enough for entire families to sit together.

Camp Winshape

Grades > 9-12
My name is Ryan Matherly.  I am the Pastor of Youth & College at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church here in Rome. I could really use your help if possible.

Each summer here at PVN we host a week of Camp WinShape sponsored by Chick-Fil-a.  We have over 500 kids on campus learning about how to help their community.  In order to make this work, we need as many High School Volunteers as we can get!

Darlington has always been so supportive and brought awesome volunteers!

Camp Winshape will have TWO different weeks at PVN for Volunteers to choose from!

Monday - Friday / June 24th - 28th / 8am - 4pm each day.  Completed 9th Grade and up.

Monday - Friday / July 1st - 5th /  8am - 4pm each day.  Completed 9th Grade and up.

Students who work a full week can get up to 40 volunteer hours to go towards their graduation requirement!
They do NOT have to work every day.  It is up to their own preference!
They will be assisting the Winshape leaders and building relationships with the kids.
