Middle grades students participated in International Dot Day each year as a way to serve and "make our mark" in our community. On Friday, Mrs. Boling's Advisory started their Dot Day of Service by creating personal cards for the girls who reside in Cooper and Thornwood Houses. Then they ventured to the Ruth and Naomi House, where they learned more about this community service and spent time cleaning and organizing the playroom, a shared space for the children who reside there with their mothers. The girls ended their time by writing encouraging notes for the women and children to be delivered along with the evening meal of tacos with all the trimmings prepared and donated by the girls. Back at Darlington, they delivered the cards they made to the dorm, enjoyed Kona Ice complements of Fall for the Arts, then joined the second graders who had just published their first stories and were eager to read them aloud. Afterward, Raven entertained everyone with a magic trick, followed by a fun time together on the playground. In the words of Coach Atha, Dot Day is "a great day to be a Tiger!"
