Darlington had little issue in advancing past Atlanta International with a 3-0 win Thursday to clinch a spot in the Classes 1A Division I-3A Private semifinals.
The Tigers, the No. 1 seed in the bracket, will face No. 5 Athens Academy in the penultimate round.
Third-line singles player Randy Kim began the duel quickly with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. He was followed by the first-line doubles pair of Felipe Selle and Davis Carney, which won 6-4, 6-2.
Second-line singles player John Courtnay clinched the Tigers’ advancement with a 6-4, 7-5 win.
Darlington was ahead in first-line singles and second-line doubles when Courtnay ended the contest. Murray Ellington led his opponent 6-4, 4-6, 5-4 and the pair of Grady Ferguson and Andrew Parsa led 2-6, 6-3, 5-4.
