25 selected for Leadership Darlington

Twenty-five alumni representing seven states will participate in the school’s 13th annual Leadership Darlington program in March. 

"We are elated to welcome the 13th class of Leadership Darlington back to the Lakeside! This prestigious and highly sought-after program provides alumni with the unique opportunity to engage with their alma mater and school leaders on a deep, personal level," said Vicki Vincent, director of alumni relations. "The program aims to cultivate a network of active alumni, while nurturing the next generation of leaders who will shape Darlington's future."

Members of the Leadership Darlington Class of 2025 include Camille Temples Abney ('13), Anthony M. Cantrell ('74), Benjamin M. Cantrell ('08), Elizabeth Husser Creech ('93), Byron L. Eberhart III ('86), Elliott A. Echols ('08), Dr. D. Scott Edwards ('75), Russell E. Evans ('03), Payton Payne Guest ('10), Emily C. Hendrickson ('06), David B. Ivester ('84), Bedell James ('87), Harry Johnson IV ('99), Robert L. Leach ('85), Robert H. Ledbetter III ('16), Keara Evans Leonard ('16), Mary Austin Morgan ('13), Dr. Beau P. Pollard ('10), Sallie Ransom ('86), Blake E. Riedling ('99), Caroline Walker Schley ('13), William M. Sharp ('04), Charles C. Shaw Jr. ('90), Dorothy S. Vincent ('07) and Lindsay Evans Willis ('12).

Over two days, participants will obtain an integrated view of Darlington, including the internal and external forces that affect the school's direction, and the challenges she faces. They will also experience an interchange with senior administrators and participate in discussions about the future of Darlington.

The program will feature Whit Whitaker ('77, LD '15) as honorary chair of Leadership Darlington. He is the former president of King University and a retired U.S. Navy captain whose 25-year military career included decorated service in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. Whitaker has contributed time and expertise to many civic, community and professional organizations, including work at Berry College in advancement, as chief of staff and as secretary to the Berry College Board of Trustees. He is currently vice chair of the Darlington Board of Trustees having served on the board since 2019.
