The Math Scholars Guild inducted 23 outstanding math students in a ceremony held Oct. 10 in Morris Chapel. The math department created this group to recognize students who have actively pursued a deeper and wider math education that is far beyond the school's minimum requirements.
Inductees have completed or are currently enrolled in at least six math classes over their high school career, one of which can be an engineering or computer science elective. They can also demonstrated this excellence by the depth of their course of study, such as pursuing post-high school coursework. They have consistently demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm in the classroom, heartily participating in math activities such as math team, iPeriods, tutoring and math competitions, like the AMC and KSU tests. Inductees are recommended by their math teacher.
New members include Femi Ajiboye, Bo Brooks, Ansel Enverga, Kathleen Hwang, Christa Jackson, Emily James, Jayden Kimani, Timothy King, Garrett Kizziah, Atlas Kosedag, Ther Kotchasamanee, Brecken Laliberte, Nicholas Lawrence, Eusong Lee, Lauren Clay Musgrage, An Nguyen, Yixin Pan, Hayes Parsa, Charlie Patel, Tri Pham, Nixon Prior, John Webb and Qiulin Wu.
