Hello, we are Grant Sikes and Ryland Scott. Throughout the course of this year, we will be covering Darlington athletics via Instagram, photography that will be published on the school website via galleries, post-game interviews with players, media days, and much more. We have also committed to creating a unique and individual feel for each of our athletic teams, while retaining the beautiful color scheme of Darlington School in all the posts.
On our Instagram account, @darlingtonathletics, we have made graphics to notify followers of the sporting events that will occur that day along with their location and time. We are also providing updates when photos have been uploaded to the school website following an athletic event. This not only notifies the athletes involved but also fellow members of the Darlington Community.
Our main goal for this project is to not only put out content on Instagram and the school website, but to also spark an interest within our fellow classmates in multimedia projects and productions through the lens of athletics. Hopefully, our project can set the framework for a sports media class at Darlington in the coming years!
Senior Ventures is a year-long academic program built on a framework of leadership, innovation and community engagement. Through a proven self-guided exploratory process, seniors whose proposals are selected for this program work independently to develop a project that’s interdisciplinary in scope and is connective, performance-based, investigative, or entrepreneurial.
