Hi! I am Elizabeth Richie and I am part of the Senior Ventures class this year. For my project, I will be writing a devotional book for young teens and pre-teens to encourage them throughout their faith journeys. Two of my passions are writing and Biblical studies, so I wanted to combine those two in creating this book. I didn't feel like I had a good resource for finding encouragement to get me through those young teenage years. I really want to be a light in the community and help guide young students through their faith journeys, whatever that might look like!
I plan to write a 31-day devotional about various struggles and events I have experienced to encourage younger students. There will also be some prayers and activities to go with each Devo. I plan to become self-published through Amazon and also through Amazon, have it be a physical book.
Through the Darlington Community, I will be working with Mrs. Inman, since she is my Y-Cabinet leader and an active member of my church. In the Rome community, I will be working with my youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Rome, Nick Georgian. I am so excited about this project, and I cannot wait to see how the Lord guides me through this process.
Senior Ventures is a year-long academic program built on a framework of leadership, innovation and community engagement. Through a proven self-guided exploratory process, seniors whose proposals are selected for this program work independently to develop a project that’s interdisciplinary in scope and is connective, performance-based, investigative, or entrepreneurial.
