Seniors Elsa Quay Corbin and Weizhe (William) Feng have been named finalists in the Rome Noon Optimist Club Student of the Year competition. Corbin is a finalist in the All-Around category, and Feng is a finalist in the Community Involvement category.
Corbin , a four-year day student from Rome, owns her own business, Art by EQ. She sells her art in two local stores, donating a portion of her proceeds to the Open Door Children's Home. On campus, she is one of the captains of the girls' varsity lacrosse team and a member of the varsity volleyball team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. An AP Scholar, Corbin has earned membership in the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta. She is the daughter of David and Gretchen Corbin.
Feng is a four-year boarding student from Shanghai, China, and serves as Darlington's student body president. In addition, he is the Honor Council Executive Committee secretary, a head prefect in Summerbell House, vice president of the Physics Club and a member of the JV tennis team. An AP Scholar with Distinction, Feng has participated in prestigious programs with the Stanford Summer Humanities Institute and the Wharton Business Leadership Academy. He has earned membership in the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the International Thespian Society. He has also been awarded the Georgia Harvard Club Award, Hanks Medal, St. Lawrence University Book Award, Darlington Class Citizenship Award and the E.L. Wright Award. He is the son of Jiong Feng and Su Zhang.
