Eighth-grader Kaya Nadu, a junior member of the Chattooga 4-H .22 Rimfire Team, recently competed in the 4-H .22 Rimfire Silhouette Match at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonon, Ga. She and a teammate were tied for second place and had a tie-breaking shoot off to finish out the competition, with Nadu ultimately finishing third.

This is Nadu's fourth year on the Chattooga 4-H Shooting Team and her first year in the .22 Rimfire Discipline. The team will be heading back to Eatonon at the end of April to compete in the 4-H .22 Rimfire Sporter State Rifle Match.

Nadu, a second-year student at Darlington, is involved in volleyball, basketball, and tennis. She is the daughter of Bruce and Jessica Nadu of Rome.

Georgia 4-H Project SAFE (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) uses shooting sports to teach many valuable life skills in a safe team environment. Trained volunteers lead clubs in BB, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, 22 Rifle, Shotgun and Archery in over 110 counties.

4-H is the nation’s largest youth leadership development organization, empowering nearly 6 million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. Georgia has one of the largest state programs in the country with more than 240,000 active 4-H members across the state.
