Darlington School has established its first-ever Young Alumni Council with Austin Spooner ('12) of New York serving as president and Hanna Jon Lewis ('16) of Atlanta serving as vice president.

"The Darlington School Young Alumni Council seeks to link young alumni to students, foster a culture of giving, support the school, and foster the engagement of Darlington’s Young Alumni community," said Vicki VIncent, director of alumni relations. "YAC’s mission is to serve and support recent Darlington graduates with programs and communications that are uniquely tailored to their own needs and perspectives; promote and support the school; and cultivate and encourage a continuing affiliation among recent graduates and Darlington."

Inaugural members include Paige Banks ('12) of Atlanta; Jordan Beck ('14) of Rome; Destiny Calhoun Sewell ('15) of Rockmart; Ga.; Will Crawford ('16) of New York; Olivia Drake ('17) of Rome; Keara Evans ('16) of Rome; Kate Flory ('17) of Columbus, Ga.; Brody Gardner ('12) of San Francisco, Calif.; Lucas Greenberg ('14) of Arlington, Va.; Hollis Ledbetter ('17) of Rome; Avery Smith ('17) of Rome; Camille Temples ('13) of Rome; and Smith Wheeler ('19) of Fayetteville, N.C.

"The Young Alumni Council has established two primary goals: to engage young alumni through the school's Darlington Connects program and to prepare the next generation of alumni," said Vincent. "We are so grateful to this group of alumni for their willingness to serve and for their continued engagement with Darlington as young leaders."

Most recently, this group played a leadership role in Darlington's second annual Giving Day, which raised more than $92,000 for The Darlington Fund. Beck served as chairman of Giving Day with Evans serving as chair of young alumni giving.
