Senior Ventures Update: Joe Marion

My Senior Venture project focuses on the expansion and sustainability of the DarFarm at Darlington School. I have lived on a farm my entire life, and I am interested in agriculture and husbandry. I plan on studying agricultural operations management in college,  and I feel the DarFarm is a way to widen my views and potential. Since I started working on this project in August, I've completed the following:

• Researched the behavior of a bee colony
• Learned how to extract honey from a beehive
• Organizied and completed a successful honey sale. 
• Planted and nurtured succulents for a sale in December.
• Worked with Mr. Hudson and other Senior Ventures classmates to clean and organize the greenhouse. 
• Planted a variety of seeds to grow in the greenhouse for a vegetable and flower sale in the Spring.
• Measured the dimensions of the DarFarm so I can build a fence for baby goats we plan to purchase in the Spring.
