In this #SeniorSpotlight get to know Brinson Sumner, a day student from Rome who has been at Darlington since seventh grade and who recently signed to play football at Mercer University.
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?
The National Anthem because it’s played before every sports event.
What's your favorite show to binge on Netflix?
“Cobra Kai” or “The 100”
What house are you a member of?
Moser House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Football, soccer, day leader in Moser House
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Tommy Atha. He is the best coach that I have had. He is always determined to help in any way that he possibly can.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The football field. I love to improve in my sport as often as I can.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Smyly. She is always there to help and knows how to teach all different types of learners.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
The freedom it allows you.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS, our annual, weekend-long competition between the dorms.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have become more determined to do well in school and to not procrastinate near as much. I have also learned how to become a better friend.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
I will be playing football at Mercer and I would like to own a business one day.
