Ivy Brewer, associate dean of college guidance, has been selected as a faculty member for the inaugural SACAC (Southern Association for College Admission Counseling) Leads program. The program will be held virtually from January through May 2021.

"I am honored to be selected to mentor colleagues within the organization that has been instrumental in my professional growth over the years," she said. "I am excited to meet the next group of SACAC leaders!"

Brewer has been a member of Darlington’s college guidance staff since 2007. As associate dean of college guidance, she has visited more than 200 college campuses and has been designated a Certified Educational Planner. She holds a B.A. from the University of Georgia, an M.A. from Florida Gulf Coast University and graduate certificate in college counseling from University of California Los Angeles Extension.

Brewer is a member of both the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling. She also serves on the Board of Directors for SACAC.

The SACAC Leads program is designed to develop informed, committed, and qualified leaders for the organization and the broader profession. SACAC Leads prepares and motivates participants to provide intentional, dynamic leadership within the member states. All participants are encouraged to have been active participants in SACAC or another regional affiliate for at least five years. Faculty applicants are encouraged to have at least ten years of experience and significant past or present leadership within SACAC or another regional affiliate.
