Senior Luke McDurmon has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for October.
A day student who has been enrolled at Darlington since 2008, McDurmon has taken 15 Honors and AP courses during his high school career and is a Tiger Expert and a member of Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica. He is a four-year member of the varsity wrestling team, of which he is captain, and a two-time state wrestling finalist. He is also a four-year member of the varsity football and soccer teams. This year, McDurmon was accepted into the Senior Ventures Program.
The son of Heather and Kelly McDurmon of Rome, Luke will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Nov. 2.
