To borrow a term from Coach Atha and the football program, the Tiger lacrosse team proved to be real "Iron Tigers" on Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School.
If you are not familiar with lacrosse, it is played on a field that is longer and wider than a football field and has 10 players. It is full contact and is often referred to as, "the fastest game on two feet."
On Wednesday, it was 85 degrees and even warmer on the Mustang's turf. The Tigers lined up with exactly ten players. Due to some injuries, we only had 10. No subs! The boys played to an 8-8 tie after 48 minutes of regulation and the game went into overtime.
The Tigers prevailed through pure grit and will power to win 9-8. They truly earned their tiger stripes that day!
