Second-graders celebrated Chinese New Year with Benson and his mom. They learned about the lunar calendar, zodiak animals, the history of the spring festival, traditions of the new year celebration and enjoyed traditional Chinese New Year foods. Ms. Cloris, Benson's mom, taught the children how to use chopsticks while eating dumplings, rice, spring rolls, chicken on a stick and egg rolls that she brought for us to enjoy. She also taught the students how to say "Happy New Year" in Chinese. The children loved learning about the Chinese culture and celebrating with Benson.
