Cam Watson ('19) competed on the American team during the Elite Seniors all-star games.

Darlington senior Cam Watson, juniors Cade Brock and Tysen Dougherty, and freshman Mason McKenzie were all tapped to compete in the Georgia Elite Classic all-star games, held Dec. 26-28, 2018 at McEachern High School.

"I am extremely proud of these guys who were invited to and played in the Elite Classic Games," said Tommy Atha, Darlington's head football coach and assistant athletic director. "They took time away from their Christmas break to become better football players."

Coach Atha was selected to coach the linebackers for the Elite Senior game, affording him the opportunity to coach Watson one more time.

"I've aways wanted to coach in one of these games but when I was coaching basketball I wasn't able to get involved," said Atha. "It was an honor to be asked by Dalton head coach Matt Land to join the staff."

Dougherty and Brock were selected to compete in the Brain Bowl, a new addition to the all-star games that featured the top student scholar-athletes in junior and senior classes from around the state.

"It was great to be able to coach Cam one more time as his linebacker coach in the Senior Game and I really enjoyed seeing Cade, Tysen, and Mason compete," said Atha. "I hope more of our guys continue to play in these games and I'd love to coach again in another one."

The Georgia Elite Classic all-star games and Brain Bowl are designed for player improvement and performance review which is then distributed to over 250 colleges and their coaches. For more information about the games, visit www.georgiaeliteclassic.com
