Senior Olivia Barfield has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for November.
A day student, Barfield is an AP Scholar with Distinction who has taken 20 AP and Honors courses. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, International Thespian Society, Advancement Ambassadors, The Darlington Players, Wind Ensemble, Stadium Band and the Wildlife Appreciation Club. She has served as a stage manager for several theatrical productions and received the Outstanding Theater Crew Member Award and the Woodwind Achievement Award last spring. Additional honors include a Georgia Certificate of Merit and an E.L. Wright Award for Spanish 3.
Outside of Darlington, she performs with the Northwest Georgia Winds and serves on the Stewardship Committee at her church. She has also gone on summer mission trips, where she was a Spanish tutor, and enjoys volunteering with the William S. Davies Homeless Shelter's Ruth & Naomi Project.
The daughter of Lori and Kenny Barfield of Rome, Olivia will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Nov. 12.
