An amazing thing happened this week. The second-graders stormed the girls’ dorms and put up encouraging and colorful signs on each door. The girls in Cooper House pointed me toward one in particular on the second floor. It was full of wisdom and encouragement.
Every day is OK
This reminds me of the saying, “today is a good day to have a good day.” My outlook creates my outcome.
Make friends and have good grades
All of us need balance. We need to balance work and play. We need both to be successful.
You can do this, it is OK
A little reassurance in the most difficult moments can help us make it through the day because in the end it will all be OK.
Go for it
Take a chance. Take a risk. You never know until you try whether you will succeed or fail.
Thanks to Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. Peer and our second-grade artist, Callie Eady ('28), for this amazing sign. She could not have imagined the positive impact she would make on a dorm full of first-year boarding students in their first weeks of a new home and new school when she made this sign.
