Click here to read the Feb. 2 Rome News-Tribune article about the Rome Community HeART Project, which features the artwork of Darlington art teacher Kathy O'Mara, former faculty member and alumna Eva Marie (Kelley) Burns ('79), and alumnus Kelly Moore ('95).

Sponsored by Rome Area Council for the Arts and Redmond Regional Medical Center, the HeART Project celebrates Heart Month by providing a public display of art on Broad Street and at Redmond during the month of February.

The HeART sculptures are approximately four feet in size. Local concrete artist Bill Thornton created each sculpture as a hollow form covered with a skim of concrete. He then delivered each sculpture to the individual artists.

O'Mara's heart can be seen outside of Joe Marion’s office at the J.L. Todd Building. Burns' sculpture is outside of Kaleido-Sno and Moore's piece is outside of River City Bank.
