The Darlington Tigers Youth Football Camp is designed to provide each individual camper a solid foundation of basic football fundamentals necessary to excel at all different football positions. Position-specific drills, fundamentals, techniques, speed, and agility work will all be taught to help inspire youth players to have a love and passion for the game.
This is a non-contact, no pads or helmet, skill teaching camp. Campers will be provided instruction by the Darlington Tigers football staff, former college players, and current Darlington players.
Please bring a T-shirt, shorts, tennis shoes or cleats, water bottle, and sunscreen. No helmets or pads will be needed.
Note: Lunch will be available if you are particpating in an afternoon camp.
About the director
Wayne Groves has been the head football coach and director of strength and conditioning at Darlington since 2023. In his first year as head coach, he led the Tigers to the GHSA A-D1 playoffs for the 17th consecutive year. Previously, he was defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator at Rome High School, helping them to six region championships and two state championships. Three times during his tenure, he led the No. 1 defense in the state. Prior to his work at Rome, he was the defensive coordinator at Valdosta High, where his 2014 defensive unit was ranked No. 1 in AAAAAA in points allowed. Coach Groves has coached/trained over 250 athletes that have went on to play at the collegiate level.
