Travis Gaug

History Teacher, Upper School

Travis Gaug has taught history at the Upper School and served as an assistant basketball coach since 2023. He holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Vermont and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Regensburg in Germany. With more than 15 years of experience in education, much of it in Germany, Gaug has served most recently as ESOL department chair at Hebron Academy.

The English Department at Darlington School seeks an experienced English teacher beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. A Darlington teacher fully supports the mission and values of the school and has the primary responsibility for creating the best student experience possible in support of the school’s learning framework, The Cycle of Learning. The candidate must demonstrate mastery of fundamental literacy skills including writing, reading comprehension, and research. The candidate must also be able to teach a skills-based curriculum to a diverse group of students using research-based teaching strategies in classes including A.P. English Language.
