State tournament berths were on the line on Wednesday as local teams gathered at Meadow Lakes in Cedartown for the Area 3-A Division I Tournament, and the Darlington girls and boys put together stellar rounds to highlight the action.

The Lady Tigers and Tigers both claimed area championships thanks to impressive rounds from multiple different players, including girls low medalist Ther Kotchasanmanee who shot a 65 and boys low medalist runners-up Blair Moseley and Grayson Clark who tied with rounds of 71.

Kotchasanmanee led Darlington's girls to a dominant performance as a team as she combined with teammate Agatha Blocker, who shot a 76, to compile a score of 141 to claim the area crown. Fellow Lady Tigers Cinja Reimer (77) and Emma Jane Beatty (82) had strong rounds as well to finish third and fourth individually.

On the boys' side for Darlington, along with Moseley and Clark's scores of 71, Will Willerson (74) and Ethan Thoem (75) rounded out the area title winning team score of 291.

Teams and players that qualified will now have a couple weeks to prepare for the Class A Division I State Championship Tournaments that will be held May 20-21. The girls will play at Willow Lakes Golf Club in Metter while the boys will play at the Georgia Southern Golf Club in Metter.
